We\u2019re pleased to announce that, beginning in February 2026, Brussels Accountants
will transition to a new accounting platform i.e. Horus Software. This upgrade will
enable us to keep pace with a rapidly evolving digital landscape and further
streamline our processes, allowing us to serve our clients with even greater efficiency
and quality.
To continue delivering high quality, efficient service, it\u2019s essential that we stay aligned
with the latest technological developments. In particular, the increasing automation of
accounting input through the structured and digitized e-invoicing format required by
the Peppol system, which comes into effect on 1 January 2026, making this transition
both timely and necessary. For this reason, and several others, adopting a new
accounting solution is an important and forward-looking step for our firm.
Peppol is a protocol via which all B2B-invoices need to be sent in Belgium. This is
mandatory as from 2026. Businesses need to send their sales invoices to other
businesses via Peppol. And need to have the capacity to receive incoming invoices
via Peppol as well.
Every VAT registered business, be that company, or freelancer, needs to have an
access point to Peppol. Some of our clients are not compliant yet. We request them
with a fair degree of urgency to get in touch with our colleague Peter. This via the

Peppol is mandatory, it\u2019s the government, but the choice of the agency that will
function as the access point to Peppol is yours too make. Access points operate
within a competitive market.
We recommend our clients to choose Falco as their access point to Peppol. Falco is
an independent, fully legitimate access point. The reason why we propose our clients
to choose Falco is because Falco is very efficient when combined with the
accounting system Brussels Accountants will be using as from February 2026, i.e.
Horus Software. In fact both applications are entirely integrated.
Some of our clients are using Billit as their access point to Peppol. We\u2019ll make sure
that Billit gets linked to our new accounting system Horus Software. We\u2019re not asking
these clients to change from Billit to Falco. At least not at this point in time.
We all as individuals have an opinion about artificial intelligence, and it\u2019s true that not
every application of this technology will necessarily serve humanity. That said, using
AI to identify patterns in previous bookings and apply this logic through algorithms to
create accurate accounting entries for new invoices represents a valuable and
practical advancement. This approach enhances the efficiency of accounting input
and registration while significantly reducing the risk of errors, ultimately making life
easier for everyone.
Moreover, clients can easily attach comments or specify preferred (analytical)
accounts to their documents. This information is securely retained and automatically<\/p>\n\n\n\n

applied during the automated accounting process, ensuring consistency and
accuracy throughout.
For the past twenty years, people have been saying that \u201cthe computer will take over
accounting input.\u201d It has taken some time to materialize, and we are still not fully
there, but 2026 may finally mark that turning point. Of course, as always, a
professional accountant will continue to oversee and monitor the process to ensure
accuracy and reliability
